Galatians 3 (New Living Translation)
10 But those who depend on the law to make them right with God are under his curse, for the Scriptures say, “Cursed is everyone who does not observe and obey all the commands that are written in God’s Book of the Law.”[d] 11 So it is clear that no one can be made right with God by trying to keep the law. For the Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life.”[e] 12 This way of faith is very different from the way of law, which says, “It is through obeying the law that a person has life.”[f]
13 But Christ has rescued us from the curse pronounced by the law. When he was hung on the cross, he took upon himself the curse for our wrongdoing. For it is written in the Scriptures, “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree.”[g] 14 Through Christ Jesus, God has blessed the Gentiles with the same blessing he promised to Abraham, so that we who are believers might receive the promised[h] Holy Spirit through faith.
God knew we cannot keep all the laws in our life time, so He knew we will be living a cursed life because of this. So His divine plan, motivated by His extravagant love for us, is to become a curse on our behalf so that we can live a blessed and abundant life.
What is this abundant life?
He is life – He gave His life, so that we can live.
He is absolutely righteous, holy – He became sin, so that we can have His righteousness and holiness.
He is the divine health –He became our sickness, so that we can have His divine health.
He has all the riches in heaven – He became poor so that we can have His richness
How do we access this abundant life?.
It is through believing in His finished work, not by keeping the law. God’s exchange rate is the best – you offer nothing, you only believe in Him and you are then blessed ( you are righteous , you have goodhealth, you have joy, peace, love....….)
The exchange rate you can ever get from the law is the worst – you do something but is never good enough, instead you get curses (condemnation, sicknesses, poverty, strife, sadness ......).
IQ test : which exchange rate will you go for? :o))
